Who is responsible
This website, samyantaka.com, is run by Manali Bonde, the Netherlands. For any privacy question, write to manali@samyantaka.com.

What data is collected and why
When you visit the site: my hosting provider records technical information in server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to deliver the website and keep it secure.
Security protection: the Wordfence plugin processes IP addresses to block attacks and suspicious logins.

Cookies and local storage
This site does not use tracking cookies. It uses only:
- Session storage to remember that you’ve already seen the intro video, so it doesn’t replay on every page. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
- Login cookies for the site administrator only. Regular visitors never receive them.

Embedded videos
The book trailer is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube (Google) receives data such as your IP address only when you press play. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.

Links to other websites
Links to stores and sites such as Amazon, Flipkart, White Falcon Publishing and Goodreads take you to their own websites, where their privacy policies apply.

Legal basis
Data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest (running and securing the website, replying to your messages) and, for the YouTube video, your consent when you choose to play it.

How long data is kept
Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed for security, normally no longer than 90 days. Emails are kept only as long as our conversation requires.

Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email: manali@samyantaka.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Children
This website is not directed at children under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect their data.
